Dry Cleaning Preparation
There’s an expression that goes something along the lines of ‘if you fail to plan, you plan to fail’; it makes a lot of sense when you really think about it. Imagine if structures (ex: commercial buildings, houses, etc) were made without any type of prior planning. If you don’t properly assess the land which the structure is to be built upon you can easily compromise the integrity of said structure.
The stakes may not be as high when it comes to prepping clothes before going to an Ottawa dry cleaner but the importance of prepping in the first place remains the same. Here are some great dry cleaning preparation tips to consider before you drop off your garments to be cleaned:
- Check all of the pockets for any items that you don’t want to take along.
- Check the tags for cleaning instructions. While most garments are safe to dry clean, not all of them are. Be sure that the care instructions indicate that the garment is safe to dry clean.
- Check the garment for any worn or weak areas. It is helpful to point these out so that your garment isn’t returned damaged. This includes loose buttons, broken zippers, etc. Some dry cleaners have tailors or alterations available that may be able to fix these problems as well.
- If you have several items to point out to the cleaners, arrive during a slow time so that you will not be rushed and forget something important.
